And now, because I'm old and we feel like it's an hour later I'm off to bed =) Happy rememberings!
Today was a day of remembering...We are visiting wonderful friends who were like family when we all used to live in MN. Visiting friends from the past brings lots of remembering. We have laughed about many memories and shared others in a more somber manner. At church we remembered the veterans as Veteran's Day is coming up on the 11th. I never want to forget what those brave men and women have done in generations past for my freedom today and I am so thankful and today am remembering with gratitude all of our friends and family who have recently served or are still serving. Thank you to your whole family for they all give so much!!! At church this morning we heard a sermon reminding us to remember what God has done just as he told his people long ago. When we remember what he has done we can trust in what he still is going to do. That is where our hope is. So we also remembered many things God has done even as recently as the past few days. We remembered his timing in all of our jobs, his provisions in the most creative and unexpected ways sometimes, we remembered how he has saved us from ourselves while we still had nothing worth saving in us, and we remember how he has called us to a life set apart for him. That life most likely will, and should, look strange to the world but it is what he asks. We hope we continue to remember all that God has done and who he is to us as a way to share him with all we come in contact with. We encourage you today to also remember. We serve a God who is good, not because he gives us good things but because that is his very character and being-a holy and just and good God. And now, because I'm old and we feel like it's an hour later I'm off to bed =) Happy rememberings!
