Today was an interesting day. This morning I didn't want to get out of bed and face the realities of transition. This afternoon I spent 2 hours at a kitchen table with friends and after, my heart was filled up! There is something about gathering in the kitchen and just sharing life. The kids and I stopped in at some friends to say goodbye. With swimsuits on, fresh from the pool, the kids all ran and played. The adults gathered in the kitchen and talked. As my friend made dinner, her husband and I sat at the kitchen table and the 3 of us shared life. They asked good questions and acknowledged fears and loss we are facing. We laughed together. We contemplated God's goodness even in the hard, silent days. They challenged and encouraged me and I hope they feel the same. As we were about to leave, our friend said "let's pray-round up the kids, we want to pray for you guys." We gathered around the island in the kitchen holding hands. There were big hands, little hands, brown and cream and black hands. It was beautiful. And then our friend prayed. His prayer washed over my soul and reminded me that it doesn't matter if I don't want to get out of bed and face the new days to come. I'm not alone. I don't have to do it alone. It won't always feel good. However, we have a very good God who lovingly asks us to join him and then walks with us each step of the way. I'm thankful for many friends and many moments like this where life has happened in the kitchen, together. If you haven't invited someone into your kitchen to share life lately, try it-it is truly life changing!

God's not only walking WITH you, but He has already gone BEFORE you and has prepared your way! Our minds feel uncertainty and fear, but rest in the knowledge that God has it all under control and that He has every detail already laid out. May He bless you and your family for your faithfulness in following His plan for your lives, you will be richly rewarded as you bless others with the gifts He has bestowed on you! Blessings to you!
